The words of Blupinta

The editor’s words, as it uses them, with where each is explained.

  • Home: everything you draw in a project: its plans, rooms, walls, openings, furniture. Exported, it is one file (see The home file).
  • Project: a home in your list, with the people who work on it and its versions (see Your projects).
  • Level: a floor of the building at its height (the ground floor, a mezzanine; see Stairs and levels).
  • Area: a part of the house with a kind: dwelling, garage, cellar, outdoor, zone. Each room belongs to one (see Areas).
  • Plan: what you draw on: the walls and rooms of one level, on one sheet (see Plans).
  • Sheet: the plan’s paper: its coordinates, in centimetres for a new home. A drawing is laid on it.
  • Presentation: how a host app shows the home: its plans in their real place or arranged side by side, and the areas it shows (see Presentations).
  • Drawing under the plan: a scan or a PDF of a floor plan laid under the walls to trace over (see The drawing under the plan).
  • Wall, parapet, railing, separator: the four kinds of wall. A separator has no body: it only divides two rooms (see Wall).
  • Room: a closed region with a name, a use and a floor (see Rooms).
  • Opening: a door, a window, a French window or a doorway in a wall. An opening type is a kind the house keeps (its size and parts) that many openings share (see Opening types).
  • Plate: a light switch’s or a socket’s plate on a wall’s face, at a height from the finished floor (see Switches and sockets).
  • Block: a plain box (a pillar, a shaft, a bulky piece); a cladding is a block against a wall (see Blocks and claddings).
  • Elevation: a wall seen from the front, with its openings and plates at their heights (see Editing walls).
  • Dimension: a measure kept on the plan; a measure taken is one measured on site, kept with its date (see Measures and notes).
  • Source: where a measure comes from: the floor plan, a photo, a measure taken, an assumption.
  • Note: words pinned on the plan for the people working on it; printed, never shown in 3D.
  • Product: an item of the catalogue, with its options (size, finish, inserts; see The catalogue).
  • Piece: a product in your home, with its options and its room; placed on the plan or still in the pieces to place.
  • Inventory: every piece of the home, placed or not (see The inventory).
  • Group: pieces that move together; a set is a group saved to place again (see Groups and sets).
  • Floor and kit: a floor made by you (a material, a pattern, a size); a kit is one kept among your own, for every project (see Floors and kits).
  • Workspace: Structure (walls, rooms, openings), Furnish (the catalogue) and Inventory (see Finding your way in the editor).
  • Snapping: the pointer caught by ends, middles, walls, guides and angles while you draw (see Snapping). Magnetic walls: with a drawing under the plan, the Wall tool catches the walls it shows, with their thickness (see Wall).
  • Calibrate: put the drawing to scale on a length you know (see Calibrate the drawing).
  • Normalise: cut walls that cross so they meet, and bring a wall’s end left inside another on to it (see Normalise the walls).
  • Checks: the house’s problems, the review, the sockets proposed and the materials (see Checking the home).
  • Draft: the home as it is now, saved by itself as you work; everyone in the project shares it.
  • Version: the draft saved as a fixed point, with a message; it never changes again, and a host app reads the latest (see History and versions).
  • Owner, editor, viewer: the roles in a project (see Inviting people).
